BABY AEROPLANES.
SUCCESSFUL TESTS. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LONDON, Oct. 4. Bert Hinkler made most successful test flights at Lympne in an Avro biplane preparatory to to-day’s hundred miles competition for the Grosvenor challenge cup, Avlierein he is an entrant. The Avro was in splendid trim. With a neAv Bristol Cherub engine, Hinkler climbed 3800 ft and executed a series of loops and other stunts. He fleAv at loav speed over the course, piloted by tAvo air viee-Ma.Tshals (Sir Sefton Brancker and Sir Geoffrey Salmond). The later said the efficiency of baby" machines, Avith engines similar, to those of light motor cars and motor cycles, had been conclusively proved.
