The death occurred recently at Mangapa i (North Auckland) of Mr Thomas H. Jones. Mr Jones arrived in New Zealand with his people in the ’ship Bombay in the year 1864, being then 12 years of age. On Teaching manhood he came to Taranaki, where he took up farming, first at Kaimata, then at Norfolk Hoad. He was always interested in local affairs, and for many years was a member of the Norfolk School Committee and a director of the'Maketawa Dairy Company. He was also for some time a member of the Moa Hoad Board. Twelve years ago. with his family. Mr Tories left Taranaki, going to the Whangarei district, where he carried on farming until his death.
