• LADIES’ MATCH. HAWERA DEFEAT NEW PLYMOUTH. A team from the New Plymouth ladies’ club visited Hawera yesterday, and in a singles match in the'afternoon the Hawera ladies were victorious by two up. A friendly four-ball match played in the morning to fill in time resulted in a win for the visitors. The weather was rough and not conducive to good golf. Following are the results of the games in both matches, the New Plymouth players being mentioned first in each case: Four-ball match. Mrs. Nicholson and Miss Stanford all square with Mrs. Little and Miss Quin. Miss Dell and Mrs. Quilliam defeated Mrs. French and Mrs. Thomson. Mrs. Hill and Mrs. McDiarmid defeated Mrs. Walliley and Miss Wilson. Miss Simpson and Miss Home defeated Mrs. Foyster and Miss Sturrock. Mrs. Williams and Mrs. Scanlan lost to Miss .Toll and Mrs. Christie. Miss Morton and Miss Read defeated Mrs. Bright and Mrs. Page. • Mrs. McWilliam and Mrs. Anderson lost to Miss Caplen and Mrs. Suisted. Singles. Mrs. Nicholson lost to Mrs. Little. Miss Stanford lost to Miss Quin. Miss Dell lost to Mrs. French. Mrs. Quilliam lost to Mrs. Thomson. Mrs. Hill defeated Mrs. Suisted. Mrs. McDiarmid defeated Miss Wilson. Miss Simpson lost to Mrs. Walkley. Miss Home lost to Miss Robertson. Mrs. Williams lost to Miss Joll. Miss Morton defeated Airs. Christie. Miss Read lost to Airs. Bright. Mrs. Scanlan. defeated Mrs. Page. Airs. McWilliam defeated Aliss Wylie. Airs.' Anderson defeated Aliss Sturrock. Lady players are notified that a final competition will he played next Thursday in the form of junior and senior bogey matches. Players are to choose their own partners.
