A message from Aden states that the steamer Tiecarrel, from Port Pirie, wirelessed that she was ashore a mile and a half off the shore near Cape Gardafui. ' She was making no waterand was endeavouring to refloat. There was twenty-four feet of water around the ship. A PERILOUS UNDERTAKING. ROME, Sept. 29. The Italian airman Locajtelli was enthusiastically welcomed at Naples. He declared liis readiness to fly across the Pole. LABOUR DISPUTES. 1 LONDON, Sept, 29. The Minister for Labour (lylr. T. Shaw) in the course of a preface to a Labour pamphlet, announces his determination to set up courts of inquiry into all industrial disputes likely to inconvenience the public. He denies that disputes have increased since Labour took office. He adds that arbitration is becoming more and more a practical method of settling disputes, and probably it will make ranid stride's in the immediate future, but it is at present impossible to even dream of making it compulsory. LONDON’S LORD MAYOR. LONDON, Sept. 29. Sir Alfred Bower has been elected Lord Mayor of London. He was formerly a noted rider of high bicycles and made many records. . GOVERNOR OP JAMAICA. KINGSTON, Sept. 29. Sir Samuel Wilson, the new Governor of Jamaica,, has arrived and has taken the oath of office, pledging himself to do his utmost to aid the development of the colony.
