PROSECUTION DROPPED.
STORM IN THE COMMONS. BY CABLE—PEEKS ASSOCIATION—COPYBIGHT Received Oct. 1, 2.10 p.m. LONDON, feept. 30. In. the House of Commons a storm arose as the result of questions in regard I to the dropping of the prosecution cf Campbell, editor of the Workers’ .AVeekly, for alleged incitement of the fighting -forces to disobey orders. Sir Patrick Hastings said that as a result of careful investigations he concluded that it was impossible to hold Campbell criminally responsible for the publication. He emphatically denied that his decision was influenced by outside representations. All 1 AlacDonald intervened in a subsequent heated exchange between Con servatives ancT Labourites. He declared that he was unwilling to allow that the explanation of the real circum - stances of the dropping.of the prosecution should be delayed till the autumn.
Eventually it was arranged that all parties will debate the question next week.
Air Baldwin hinted that the Opposition might move a vote of censure on the Government.
