BOTTOMLEY’S RIVAL.
BANK DIRECTORS ARRESTED
BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPrtT.JHT VIENNA, Sept. 29. Warrants have, been issued for the arrest of Goldstein and Neumann, directors of the Vienna Deposit Bank, and Castiglioni ,an ex-nresident, has been ordered to appear In court. Castiglioni had a remarkable career in recent years, and became known as the Stinnes, or alternatively the Bottonrley, of Southern Europe. He made an immense fortune during and after the war out of the collapse of the Austrian exchange. He had interests in banks in seven countries, owned four papier mills, five Vienna newspapers and had gig holdings in steel, elec? tncal, naphtha, shipping and textile companies. When the slump came Castiglioni hastily resigned from the presidency of the Deposit Bank 5 which other banks refused to assist on the ground that its balance-sheet was misleading.
