(by TKLEGUATUId—VREBS ASSOCIATION .) WELLINGTON, Sept. 30. • T%tChief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) had him the question, of ,a ihagistrate’s jurisdiction to order imprisonment' for non-payment of debt. He held that the onus wvas on the debtor to satisfy a magistrate that- lie had not sufficient money to pay, and in this case it wa,s clear the magistrate was not satisfied. |t was, therefore, within his jurisdiction, and he dismissed the application to 'prohibit the magistrate enforcing imprisonment.
