Business on the Stock Exchange is commencing to expand in volume, and dealings this week were probably the largest for many -weeks. In, giltedged securities the market remains good- and there has been a mild boom in tea and rubber shares following ad-, vances in these commodities. An outstanding feature of the foreign bond market has been the slump in German bonds, wherein"there has been considerable speculation lately. The Reichstag committee decided on the , reassessment of the value' of these bonds, and declared that the payment of interest was impossible. The publication ;of the decision brought prices dop’n- ,with : a run, three per cent; falling .to 265, a. decline of 16s 6d. Similar ‘ losses trere marked in 3£'s and fours. .
