WATCHMAN’S VIGILANCE
PREVENTS A BURGLARY
(by TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 29. A burglary that would have-resuited in a heavy loss was frustrated by a mghtwatciiman. Noticing that the doors of Schneideman’s factory in Cable Street were open at 10.45 p.rn., he entered and disturbed, burglars at work. They had broken through windows and doors, doing much damage, . and had piled about £IOOO worth of rolls, of cloth near a lift, and were evidently, waiting for a confederate to arrive with a vehicle. The watchman summoned the police, but the robbers got away, leaving a jemmy behind. r .
