Plans for a trans-Pacific airplane flight from San Francisco to the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand and other Pacific countries are announced by the Pan-Pacific Union. The purpose of the flight will, be to study the possible establishment of five or more permanent air lines linking the countries bordering the Pacific. The tentative plans provide for a start from San Francisco to Honolulu, proceeding south-west by the Marshall, Caroline and Pelew Islands to Manila, and then south and east to Sydney. Another'flight will take the explorers to Auckland, and their return journey will involve stops at the Fiji, Samoa, Phoenix and Christmas Islands.
