RAPID RECOVERY

GERMANY AGAIN A COMPETITOR

WHAT BRITAIN MUST FACE.

NEED. TO BE ALERT, AGTiVE AND RESOURCEFUL.

BY CABLR--FBLSB ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT. Received Sept. 25, 9.30 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 24. The Daily News Berlin correspondent predicts a. big struggle for world markets as the result of the coming trade treaties. Since the London Conference Germany’s internal situation has been astonishingly transformed. and economic recovery is following on the acceptance of the' Dawes report. It is miraculous how the underfed, ill-paid and ill-clothed Germans have' disappeared and everyone is tenfold better off than in 1923. People rise early, work hard and saive. Communism is dead and the workers regard it as ca. canny and suicidal. The old type of business man has reappeared. If British industry is to parry the coming German commercial . drive employers and workers must be alert, active and resourceful. Whether Va like it or not Germany has again become a great European Power.
