KAPONGA FLOWER SHOW.
. EXCELLENT PROSPECTS. The large number of entries already received for competition in the spring flower show to be held in the Kaponga Town Hall on Friday, under the auspices of the indicate that the total will be well in excess of last season’s figures. The schedule is ai comprehensive one, embracing narcissi, cut blooms, pot plants, decorative, home industries, fancy work and school sections, in all of which a good display and keen competition may be expected. .The narcissi" showing should prove especially attractive. In order to meet the convenience of those intending exhibitors who- have been unable to forward nominations w'ithin the specified time, it has been decided to accept late entries up till 8 p.m. on Thursday. Arrangements are being made for a number of side shows, including a baby carnival, which is in progress. Four local babies—Clive Bennie, Florence Harding, Lola Hawke and Josephine 1 James—have been nominated, their respective campaign colours being white, blue, green and pink. Supporters of each candidate are vigorously canvassing in quest of votes, and the termination of the contest on Friday evening should result in a close finish.
