Prince Premier was bred by Mr. E. E. Jenkins, Dunsandel, Canterbury. Prince Premier is a fine, bold, upstanding horse with good broad sound feet, a fine set of legs, with plenty of good straight flowing silky hair. He is a rich dark brown colour, with white hind legs, and has a splendid temper; has a good head set on a good neck and shoulders, with a good body proportionately built. He is a very weighty horse, likely to produce the heavy cart horses so njuch required nowadays. He has splendid action, and is a bold straight-goer. He is a 6ure foal getter; his first foals are very highly spoken of. His sire, Premier Pride, carried oft the championship prizes, in all South Island show rings for years, also winning many prizes for sire and four of his progeny.
