Plrcfessor Di Martino Fusco, whose recent announcement that he had discovered the lost books of Livy hi the ruins of a 1 monastery at Naples can,sec such a sensation that the professor disappeared ostensibly to avoid an interruption of his work, appeared to-daj in Naples in obedience to* an official summons, and, was interrogated by a Ministerial Commission in the presence of the Prefect. A semi-official statement issued iatei declares that what Martino discovered were merely the notes of the books, not the books themselves. An in quiry, however, is proceeding. —Renter.
