An authentic report from Kabul states that a Maliommedan priest belonging to the Apostolic sect was publicly stoned to death in the heart of the city by order of tlie High Court, confirmed by the Amir, for declaring that the founder of the sect was a second Messiah. The accused refused to recant even when buried to , the waist in the public square, the populace delightedly stoning him. He was soon buried under a pile of stones.
