WAIMATE WEST GYMNASTIC SOCIETY.
A .meeting of the above society was on Friday evening, there being a fair attendance. Mr A. A. West took the chair.
The chairman reported on work done since last meeting.* The following have agreed to accept office: Mr A. G. Bennett, patron ; Mr J. A. Hansen, president; Messrs H. Holmes, G. Stevenson, C. Watson, J. E. Ward, vice-presi-dents; Mjp A. A. West, chairman executive committee; Mr H. Hunger, treasurer; Mr G. Clarke, secretary. It was decided that the secretary interview presidents of local sports clubs and bodies with a view to obtaining their support. A letter of appreciation is to be- sent to the Witness for work done for the society.
Suggestions re subscriptions were left over till next meeting. Mr Vincent is to be in charge of the floor on exercise nights. The next meeting is to be held on Friday, September 19.
An- entrance fee for members of 2s 6d is to be charged. Every member is asked to. do his best to secure new members by next, meeting.
