IRELAND COMES FIRST

BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT LONDON, Sept. 16. The names of the winners .of the £2OOO prizes in <the British Empire section of the Filene peace award competition are announced. The first place is taken by Ireland, while England secures twenty-six prizes, Scotland, Canada, and New Zealand two each, and South Africa and Tasmania one each. Mr. Bolton Waller, of Bray, County Wicklow, is the first prize winner and he has been awarded £IOOO. Miss Freda White, London; gained the second prize of £250, and Mr, Norman Angell the third, prize of £IOO. Ten awards of £25 include Mr. Horace Belshaw and Professor Condliffe, of Tirnaru and Christchurch respectively.
