TE KIRI.
(From Our Own Correspondent) At the meeting subsequent to the Scotch night a strong committee, was formed as follows: Chairman, Mr. Rodger; secretary, Mr. McKinnon; members, Messrs Templeton, Agnew, Coxhead, Crawford, Boleyn, Machray, and Sutherland. I believe they intend working with a sports club to improve the domain, etc. Air. Palmer is holding a spring show at the school on Friday next. There are some beautiful varieties of daffodils out in the school gardens iust now, and as most of the children took bulbs in place of prize-money at the autumn shoy they should have quite a nice show, with keen competition. The hall committee lias definitely fixed the date for the ball to' open the new supper-room for October 3. Particulars will he advertised later. Taungatara are entering a team for the tug-of-war at Manaia on the 24th inst. Visitors will he welcome to the children’s show, and a cup of tea will be given, for which the ladies are requested to bring baskets.
