MARTIAL LAW
TROUBLE IN IRAQ
BY CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT
Received Sept. 16, 9.15 a.m. BAGDAD, Sept. 15. Martial law has been proclaimed in the districts of Yakhos and Amadiyah, north of Mosul, as a result of a raid by Turkish irregulars. Aeroplanes, armed with machine-guns, dispersed the raiders. ■
A communique issued by the Iraq Ministry says that the proclamation is a precautionary measure to prevent similar aggressions on the Iraq border in future. —Reuter.
