HAWERA CLUB. A committed, meeting of the- above, ciulj was held in the pavilion on Friday evening last, when the president (A* l ' k-. Adamson) occupied the eliair. - n6 principal business set down for the evening was th.g appointment ©f subjiinnittees, competitions, and fixing the date for the official opening of the green. The committees appointed were as follow:—Green Committee: T. Corki.ll and A\. McDonald. Match Committee: J. Eoy, W. Robertson, and A'. H. Hodge. Refreshment Committee: A. hvjeilerup, T. Corkill, A. Shaw ana E, Dillon.

In compliance with a recommendation from the annual meeting that a sole selector lie appointed for the coming season, it was unanimously decided to appoint Mr S. Adamson to the posi--on. The services of Mj- Jas. Allen as caretaker for the club have’ again been secured.

Tiie committee decided to present a pair of bowls as a prize for a competition among new members (i.e., menu bers who have never played bowls before)._ As there are quite a. number oi recruits this season, it is expected this competition will be keenly con-tes-ted.

Somc discussion ensued as to, whether 'be ciub should enter two teams — Wednesday and Saturday—in the Ranler competition, and it was finally decided to enter the two teams. It .vas hoped that some of the other clubs m the Southern llivision would also ~'t in two teams, as suggested by the I aranaki Centre.
