«* CADiIl —PBKHR K HSOCIATTON —COPYETGHT CAPETOWN, Sept. 12,

Mr. J. H. Thomas (Secretary for the Colonies) presided at a conference at Bloemfontein between the visiting delegates of the -Empire Parliamentary As•SteCiatipn and colleagues of the South African Parliament. The conference unanimously approved of the principle of delegations visiting the various countries of the Empire at least once in every two years. A proposal that the next meeting be' held in London was received with enthusiasm. It is expected that there will be several further conferences during the remainder of the tour. .

Mr. Thomas, interviewed, reaffirmed that the solution of questions affecting the Commonwealth, such as the Indian problem, must be the work of all parties in the Dominions. The conference would not abrogate the rights of each Domirnon'or delegate to Cabinet responsibility, . The conference would explore the whole situation and devise means to avoid friction.
