Holmes, not out, made 202, Hendren 101, and Rhodes 56. The South Africans in their second innings made 45 for no wickets. Holmes batted for 308 minutes, hitting twenty fours and giving two chances. With Hendren he added 170. The scoring was monotonous against the tired bovvling Hendren, who gave two chances, hit one six and nine fours.
