AUCKLAND, Sept. 11. I lie Auckland branch of the P. and T. Officers’ Association to-night carried a resolution viewing with marked regret and extreme disfavour the use by the Postmaster-General of the expressions “disloyalists” and “malcontents” in conenction with the service. The branch reaffirmed confidence in the executive, and challenged anyone to substantiate a charge of disloyaltv to the Department or wilful inefficiency in the service. It was resolved to telegraph all members of Parliament demanding that no further reduction in taxation take place until salary cuts have been restored.

A similar resolution was carried at Wanganui. LICENSE IN KING COUNTRY. ’ - DUNEDIN, Sept. 11. Ihe annual Otago area convention of the New Zealand Alliance was held today. A resolution was carried: “That this meeting of the prohibitionists of Otago area places on record its protest against . any attempt to introduce license into the King Country.” ALLEGED DEFALCATIONS. WELLINGTON, Sept. 11. Robert Snowden Bush, aged 22 years, appeared at the Magistrate’s Court charged with converting to his own use the sum of £6 12s 6d received on terms requiring the monev to he paid into the account of the Native Trust Department, where he was formerly employed. The chief detective said the defalcations totalled about £l5O. Accused was remanded till the 17th.
