NORMANBY TOWN BOARD ELECTION.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —I notice in the Star there are 10 candidates for five seats for the above. I would suggest the whole 10 address the Normanby electors before the polling day, so that we can hear their views. Several i leading 1 topics want light thrown on' them, such as (1) a Town Boards’ Parliamentary Act giving town board machinery embracing differential rating powers', etc.; (2) letting the ratepayers and residents know what the present law is as regards the constitution of a vote here; (3) who runs the risk if an accident oceuis through the running of cows on the town roads; (4) dealing with unmetalled roads; (5) a vigorous policy of tackling absentee holders by getting workmen’s homes built oh their vacant sections; (6) the unsatisfactory train service; (7) a water supply for the town; (8) a library and reading room; (9) the establishment of the Maori Land Court here (instead of Haweraj as preferred by the Maoris, etc. Hoping those 10 will foot the lights.—l am, etc.,
RESIDENT
