Cleat’s published interview' oil behalf of the Auckland committee controlling the HannanMcDevitt race on the Waitemata, iii which Cleal stated that McDev'itt- admitted after Hannan had beaten him that Hannan was champion, deal, in closing the interview, said he would like to inform Oeruti, who was then in Auckland, that the able and reputable body iii existence was quite capable of conducting Australasian championships without Ceruti’s assistance.
