A CHEMICAL REMEDY

(By Telegraph.—Special to the Star.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 10. Experiments with: a patent weedkiller, which are reported to have entirely killed a patch of blackberries, tops and roots, were mentioned in the House by Mr. J. R. Corrigan (Patea\ who gave particulars indicating that an effective eradicator had been discovered. He asked the Minister for Agriculture if lie would make enquiries.

The Hon. W. Nosworthy replied that he would certainly have enquiries made by departmental officers, and if the weed-killer was cheap and effective the Government would be quite prepared to consider the matter.
