WELL-KNOWN MAN’S DEATH
BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYEIGHT LONDON, Sept. 9. Mr. H. G. Evelyn White, lecturer at Leeds University and a well-known Egyptian archaeologist, committed suicide in a taxi-cab at Leeds while proceeding to the inquest on • Miss Helen Nind, a, music teacher. White was subpoenaed to give evidence. The inquest disclosed that Miss Nind poisoned herself with carbolic acid. Correspondence between White and Miss Nind was produced at the inquest.
