THEOSOPHICAL SOCIETY.
Miss Oppenheimer, national lecturer for the Theosophies! Society in New Zealand gave the first of her series of lectures in the Theosophical Rooms, Hallenstein Buildings, on Sunday afternoon. She stated that the true basis of brotherhood is the recognition of the unity of all that lives, not by any means a doctrine of equality, for. we can see the differences around us an moral, mental, and spiritual capacity shown by differing types of humanity, and only with the doctrine of the land of re-birth are we able to understand these varying stages - of. evolution which help man to show forth More of his latent divinity as he grows older in the school of ‘life, and it aids us to understand the same spiritual potentiality in each.
Miss Oppenheimer then dealt with the fact that all reforms or even scientific invention must exist first in theory before they become applied, and actual facts, the IfHSh century inventions, were the fruitage of seeds sown in the past, and science has been one of the means in the world to bring about a greater understanding through travel of the various nations and countries which will help to. bring a greater idea of internationalism before the world, and that out of the present theories of brotherhood among the few the practical application will become a.fact m the future of the .many. It is the need and hope of the future We are now in the birth throes of a new age an age which will help to lessen the want and struggle of the many based on the knowledge that brotherhood is a fact in nature, and 01 i e °f, Go< V s laws - The lecturer quoted W thought given by Dr. Annie Bespnt which shows forth the keynote to this true brotherhood: Oh hidden life vibrant .in: every atom.
