South Wales League of Scullers, that the league does not-. recognise the Hannan-Arnst race as for an Australian championship title, on the ground that the holder of the title officially endorsed bv Australia is W. McDevitt. POLO. INTERNATIONAL GAMES. NEW YORK, Sept, 6. Owing to rain the first of the international polo games at Meadowbrook has been postponed till Tuesday. ATHLETICS. TEN MILES’ CHAMPIONSHIP. SYDNEY, Sept. 7. The. New South Wales ten miles’ running championship was won by A. Gaisford in 55.335. CAR. DEFEATS PORRITT. PARGUB, Sept. 7. Carr defeated Porritt over 100 metres in 10 4-osec. Porritt led at /0 metres, hut Carr, finishing fast, won by a metre. Carr severely strained a tendon in his leg. It is regarded as serious, and lie will be unable to continue running at present. OLYMPIC TEAM. SAN FRANCISCO' Sept 5. twenty-three members of the Austrahan Olympic team, including Andre Gnarlton, will sail on Tuesday from here aboard the Tahiti. Charlton is expected to give an exhibition here
