Haworth, Cook and Lothian were outstanding in the forwards, and McArthur and Cooper in the halves were exceptionally good. The Chinese showed wonderful cleverness in field play, but weakness in front of. the goal was evident, the team being too prone to manoeuvre the ball through instead of shooting for the goal. Wu i Ting and Chang were outstanding in t the forwards, and Wang at centre-half was the mainstay of the back devision. Play in the first half was in New Zealand’s favour, the score at halftime being: New Zealand 4, China 1. In the second half the visitors had the better of play, and showed some clever footwork.
