FIVE MINERS KILLED. t , .AN UNLUCKY MINE. BY CABLE—PWBBB ASSOCIATION —COPYBIGHT Received Sept. 5, 1.15 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 4. A sudden rush ,of gas killed five and injured two night shift miners in Ponthenry colliery, Wales. The violent blast extinguished the lamps. The few deaths are due to the fact that the survivors immersed their faces in a small watercourse or used their caps as respirators. This is the third similar mishap in this pit in three years.— Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
