FARMERS’ CO-OP. REPORT,
• At Hawera on Thursday, ; 4th inst., we had a large entry of dairy heifers, when a clearance of 155 was effected. There was a good attendance of buyers and good prices were realised. Best heifers sold from £lO to £l6 15s, medium sorts £6 to £9, more backward ones £4 to £5. In the store-and fat pens we had a fair yarding, fat cows realising from £8 5s to £8 14s, forward cows £3 10s to £5, store and boners at late rates. A small line of 3-year-old steers made £4 6s. On Monday, the Ist inst., we conducted our usual fortnightly sale at Urenui and report a- good yarding. Buyers were in attendance and a successful clearance resulted. Quotations: Store pigs 21s; fat cows, £4 to £6 17s 6d; m.t. heifers, 29s 6d to 42s 6d; stores, 29s 6d to £3 12s. In dairy pens: Cows, £3 10s to £8; springing heifers, £3 5a to £6 15s.
