TOWN BOARD The monthly meeting of the Town Board was held on Monday evening. Present: Messrs C. A. Trotter (chairman), G. Feaver, and H. Munro The clerk reported that the ’ overdraft now exceeded £3OO. It was resolved to make application to the Egmont County Council for prompt settlement of the amount (£550) agreed upon on the adjustment of accounts between the two bodies. Mr. C. Wesley’s application for section 3, block IX, at the upset rental °fjea 10s per half-year was accepted. Ike new rentals fixed on sections leased by Mr. J. Gaddie, viz. £7 10s per annum for sections in Main Street and £5 per annum for section in side street, were approved. The appointment of a new cattle ranger resulted in a substantial increase in the head of stock registered The ranger reported that a total of 60 head had been impounded during the month. Permission was granted the administrator of McGregor’s estate to erect a cottage on section 7, block XIV. Mr. Briscoe, of the permanent staff had resigned. 5 On the motion of Mr. H. Munro it was decided to increase the wages of the man in charge of horse by Is per day. On the motion of Mr. Feaver the Power Board are to be asked for an explanation in regard to erecting the extra street lamps arranged for some months ago ANGLING. The committee formed to watch the interests of local anglers have quickly got to work and over the week-end have liberated 70,000 rainbow fry in local streams, 20,000 being placed in the Stony River, 10,000 in the Okahu stream, and 40,000 in the Opunake lake.
