GENEVA, Sept. 2. Sir James AH®n has been elected to the third committee, dealing with the reduction of armaments; also to the fourth committee, dealing with the budget and financial questions. . The work of the . committees was suspended upon the -arrival of Mr MacDonald and M. Herriot, when the League’s most momentous plenary session was held to discuss international
peace. - Many; think that the dehate ' may. provide, the turning point in the League’s history. It is arousing intense interest, in the lobbies, in'which American journalists are active. This is all significant. of the power which it is considered Britain, America, France, Italy and Japan possess to decide the League’s f£te. MM.
