(by TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WAJROA, Sept. 3. Capt; Knight, liarboimriaster. this morning, -found on the beach at- Wairc-a Heads what is considered a, genuine message from the ill-fated Ripple. It was contained in a 41b tin with a close-fitting lid, and oil the lid was scratched with large letters, Txok inside.” The letters are somewhat rusty, and the tin had evidently been in the water for some time-. Cll. opening the tin Captain Knight, found a wet advertising leaflet, and after drying it made out the words: “In boat with sail. Sinking. Ripple.” The rest of the message is undecipherable, being written in a scrawling hand. The message is being sent to the Richardson Company, Napier. Captain Knight believes it genuine.
