RAILWAY FARES AND FREIGHTS.

WELLINGTON, Sept. 2. lhe Minister for Railways, replying to Mr de la Perrelie, said it might not be necessary that the Government should wait for the finding of the com mission that would investigate railway management before considering concessions in railway freights and'' fares. He suggested that the member for Awaiua should wait with as much patience as possible until the railway statement came down. The commission had been delayed longer in Australia than was anticipated, and the Minister said he would announce the date when its onerations in New Zealand began.
