NARROW ESCAPE.

FALLIN G BRICKWORK. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND. Sept. 2. Several pedestrians in Karangahape Road had a narrow escape this morning, when old brickwork, weighing several hundredweight, from the u all oi premises in which alterations aro being made, collapsed, crashing on the scaffolding erected over the street. Four workmen on the scaffolding were carried on it to the ground, a. distance of eight feet. One woman who was underneath was struck by the: timber, but not • ermusly injured. Two children had narrow escapes, receiving minor cuts and bruises. The workmen were not iniured.
