HAMER A LADIES’ CLUB. A, team from the Kawera Ladies’ Club travelled to Eltham yesterday, and played a team from the Eltham Club. The weather was fine, and the course in excellent' condition, and a pleasant afternoon was spent. The tables were prettily decorated with fi'eesia and; stock, and a dainty afternoon tea was much appreciated. Play resulted in a draw. Details are as follows, Eltham players being mentioned first: Miss L Quin lost to Mrs Little, 2 mi and 1Miss M. Quin won from Mrs Wake’ iii 1 ’ ss Carneross halved with Mrs \\alkley; Miss "Wilson lost to Miss Robertson, 2 up; Mrs Stewart lost to Mrs Christie, 3 and 2; Miss S. Quin won from Mrs Page, 3 and 2; Miss \i biting won from Mrs Baylev, 2 and 1,; Airs de Launay won from Mrs Burdekin. 3 and .1; Mrs Halpin lost- to Miss Page, 5 and 3. PA TEA v. WANGANUI. The Patea Club sent a team of 13 to play Wanganui oil the Belmont Links at the week-end. The visitors proved to be too good for the home team, and won 8 matches out of 13, Williams’ game with the veteran Gilbert was a great struggle and an exhibition of brilliant play. Gilbert’s 3 at. the “dress circle” shows what a player can do when he is on his game. The results were as follows, the Patea. players being mentioned first: Findlay beat Brown, Gilbert lost to Williams,’Jones beat Gordon, Fraser beat Bourne, Grainger beat Sheet, Hunger beat Robertson, Roberts lost to Jones, Rook boat Silk, Ray beat Lewis, Pearce lost to Si urge, Wyatt lost to Grinistone, Tavlor lost to Hill.
