RUGBY FOOTBALL.
WAIRARAPA v. TARANAKI. TEAMS FOR TO-MORROW. The Wairarapa team arrived at Stratford last night bv the mail train from Auckland, with Air E. McKenzie (who was chairman of the All 'Black Selection Committee) as manager. On arrival at Stratford the visitors were met by the Stratford members of the Rugby Union, and later they were welcomed by the Mayor. This afternoon they will he motored to New Plymouth. The teams for to-morrow’s match are: WAIRARAPA. Full-hack—Yates. Three-quarters—R. Booth, E. B. Booth, T. Vangione. Five-eighths—R. Cundy, F. Booth. Half—B. Flaws. Rover—J. Donald (captain). ' Forwards—E. Muleahy, M. Willoughby, J. Wyber, K. Fairbrother, >v ooffenden, E. McKenzie, A. Desmond. Emergencies—Backs, G. Booth, R. Jury; forwards, L. Kowles, D. Mon-c-rieff, and J. O’Dowd. TARANAKI. The Taranaki team will be chosen from the following players, all of whom are required to assemble at Stratford at 1 6 clock: Priar, Meuli, Loveridge, Ennis, Ross, Penniall, Johnston, Jeffries, Kissick, Fryday, Hunt, Robinson, Kivell, Paterson, Walter, Baldwin, O’Rorke, Brewster. It is doubtful whether Johnston will have recoyered sufficiently from, injuries, and Oliver is also not available for the same reason. Mr H. G. Whittington will referee. JUNIOR PLAY-OFF. , The junior play-off between Hawera and Stratford will take place at Eltham on Saturday at 2.45 p.m. The Waverley football team journeyed to Pa tea for a friendly game with the local club on Saturday, returning victorious by 20 points to 10. Air Fred McKenna .refereed the match.
