OBITUARY.
LADY DENNISTON. On Saturday evening last Mrs H. E. Abraham, of Stratford, received word that her mother, Lady Denniston, had passed quietly away at her home in Christchurch. The end, though not unexpected, came rather suddenly, after a lingering illness. Lady Denniston,; who was 68 years of age, for many years took a leading and active part in the social life of Christchurch, and was widely known and • esteemed for her philanthropy and benevolence, and hei - demise will be deeply regretted by a very large circle -of personal friends in all parts of New Zealand. She was predeceased by her husband, the late Sir John Denniston, one of the Dominion’s most eminent Supreme Court judges, in 1919, and is survived by three sons and two. daughters, Mr Maurice Denniston' (Wellington), Mr Hugh Denniston (Argentine), Mr Geoffrey Denniston (Christchurch), Mrs H. E. Abraham,' (Stratford), and Miss Helen Denniston (Christchurch).
