SUPREME COURT.
PRISONER DISCHARGED. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) DUNEDIN, Sept. 1. John McCosker, who appeared at the recent criminal sitting of the Supreme Court on charges of committing and attempting an unnatural offence and indecent assault, was found not guilty on all charges save the last, on which the jury disagreed. At the re-trial the jury again disagreed, the matter then being referred to the AttorneyGeneral. This morning the judge (Mr. Justice Sim) stated that the Attorney-General had instructed that a nolle prosequi be entered and the prisoner was discharged. TWO' YOUTHS SENTENCED. DUNEDIN, Sept. 1. At the Supreme Court to-day Charles Eldward Ferguson and Henry Frederick Hornby, both youths, on eight charges of breaking and eiiterlng, were sentenced to three: years’ reformative detention. They, had previously been admitted to 1 probation for serious offences.
