CONDITION CAUSES ANXIETY. BY CABLE—PRE3B ASSOCIATION-COPYRIGHT _ SYDNEY, Sept. 1. Madame Melba is* suffering from a severe attack of influenza and brdnchitis, and for the past three* weeks she has been unable to take part in grand opera. She was to have made her bnal appearance on Thursday, but after consultation with her doctors! a bulletin was issued to-day stating that she was too unwell to sing. She had set her I heart oh making a final appearance, and only the doctor’s ukasC prevented her carrying out her purpose. Her condition is causing anxiety.
