When Mr Harrison was about ten paces away the pony in the gig made off. Mr Harrison rushed after the gig and attempted to climb in at the back, hoping to get hold of the reins, which were tied to the front of the gig. In jumping he missed the gig by a few inches and fell on the metal, sustaining the injuries mentioned above. Mr Harrison’s little girl acted with promptness and coolness, and galloping for about one hundred yards alongside the rnnawav she steered him straight to the end of the road, bringing him to a standstill with the least possible damage in front of a fence. Willing helpers were soon on the scene, and Mr Harrison was quickly attended to. Had it not been for the girl there would probably have been a bad smash.
