JONES’ DISQUALIFICATION. GLENTR.UIN ELIGIBLE FOR EPSOM HANDICAP. SYDNEY, Aug. 29. F. D. Jones’ name appears as one of die part-owners of Glentruin, in accordance with the Dominion rules of pacing, which made it necessary that he should be included in the nominauon. This caused the question to be raised whether his disqualification would affect the mare’s nomination or the Epsom Handicap. As, however, it is established that Jones’ only interest, was as trainer, Glentruiu’s nomnation is not affected.

THE SYDNEY SENSATION. LATEST DEVELOPMENTS IN TURF CASE. MAY CAUSE BREAK IN RELATIONS. SYDNEY, Aug. 29. The Evening News says that New Zealand sportsmen in Sydney anticipate a possible breach between the New Zealand Racing Conference and the Australian Joekev Club over the dismissal of Jones’ and McCarten’s appeals. The case has aroused greater interest than any other racing case of modern times,"because of the positions held by the parties in New Zealand. It is pointed out that there is an understanding between the New Zealand Conference and the Australian Jockey Club whereunder each endorses disqualifications imposed by the other. It is claimed that in this case the New Zealand Conference is not likely to endorse the disqualifications without the full transcript of evidence, and the ignoring of any disqualification imposed by the Jockey Club would mean a permanent break between the two bodies. New Zealand visitors to Sydney regard this as the possible outcome. The Evening News also states that Jones, feeling that no charge was proved against him, hut that he was being penalised for declining to lose •onfidenee in his iockey, had great hopes that his appeal would succeed. Now that it has failed, and. he has no further appeal to a higher racing authority, it is his intention to take advice as to the possibility of seeking redress in another direction. 'The paper adds that Mr Knight, hv letter, has expressed unshaken confidence in both Jones and MeCarten. Referring to the New Zealand horses under Jones’ c-are. he says that they can he transferred to another trainer, but more likely Glentruin, Ballymena, Currency, Alfonso and Royal Despatch will be returned to the Dominion by in early steamer.
