KILLED BY' ANTHRAX. 20 PERSONS AND 6000 HEAD OF CATTLE. MEMPHIS (Tenn.), July 29. Twenty persons, mostly negroes, and over 6000 head of cattle, are reported dead in Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi from anthrax. Additional Government expert help has been rushed to Mississippi, where GovYt hitfiekl reports eight persons and 5000 head of cattle dead and no signs of the scourge ending. U.S. LAWYERS PAY DEBT 300 YEARS OLD. LONDON, July 28. The American lawyers yesterday paid seventeen shillings and tenpence owed to the Rraseno.se College, Oxford, since 1633, by Lawrence Washington. the great great grandfather of George Washington, for bread and beer supplied to him by the college.
