FLOGGING A DEAD HORSE!
LIBERAL PARTY’S TACTICS
SCATHING: CRITICISM
WELLINGTON, Aug. 2.9. Mr. Hawken accused the Liberal Party in the House to-night of becoming political agitators. For the ninth or tenth time, ho said, they had introduc'd the same motion for the restoration of the “cuts” m the salaries of public servants. “This Hogging of a dead horse, ’ he said, “is unworthy of any party. They go on agitating in order to catch a few votes. f strongly condemn the action of the Opposition in shedding crocodile tears about the dairy farmers as they did the other day. Th, s week they want to make the dairy iarmer pay for the proposed increases to civil servants who are already betr.er paid than the farmers.”
