NGAIO AGROUND. SHOULD FLOAT AT HIGH TIDE. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) NELSON, Aug. 27. The heaviest fog experienced in Nelson for many years .settled down last evening, and continued 1 till 10 o’clock this morning. Shipping had great difficulty iii finding the entrance to the harbour, the Ngaio hovering off for several hours. The pilot launch went out to.endeavour' to give) the direction, and while so doing in a thick fog directed the Ngaio slightly to the southward, and .at half-past nine the vessel grounded on a sand bank on the other side of the channel. Owing to the ebb of the tide the vessel was unable to get off, and will remain there until three this afternoon. The passengers were taken to the wharf by the Regulus. The sea is beautifully calm, -and it is not anticipated that there will he any damage, and the vessel is expected to sail for Welling-ton-this evening as usual.
