Many places have been flooded and the river is still rising. At Seymour the rain continues falling, and a big flood is expected. One man was marooned in a tree .for five hours until rescued by a. police boat. Whitehead’s Creek inundated the lower portion of three streets, in places to a depth, of three feet. Stock is being removed with difficulty, because the railway line is under water. The children from the State School at Jackson’s Creek had to be carried through lour feet of water. Several bridges were wrecked and roads washed out. At the same time the rain will he worth millions to farmers. — Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
