PEER AT REGISTRY "OFFICE. r LONDON, August 15. The marriage of Lord William Cecil to Violet Maud Col Iyer, celebrated at the Kensington registry office, has surprised society. The bride, whose age is 45, was accompanied by her eight-year-old daughter, Peggy, who remained in the taxicab while the ceremony was carried out in a dingy office. Lady Cecil is an Australian, her maiden name being Freer. She divorced her -husband, Herbert Oswald Col Iyer. Lord William Cecil, who is Gentleman Usher to the King, is 70 years old. He married in 1885 Baroness Amherst of Hackney, who died in 1919. He has three sons.
