At the Rowan Hall on Thursday evening a public farewell is to be tendered to Mr P. Briggs, who is leaving the district. It was originally intended to hold a smoke concert, but at the request of numerous friends it has been decided that the occasion will take the form of a social and dance. As a former resident of Kaponga, and one of the town’s best Rugby players Mr. Briggs has been very popular, and his friends in the Kaponga district, as well as at Rowan, where he has been lately employed, will welcome the opportunity of extending their good wishes for bi's future welfare.
